On August 21st, 2026, Millennium Corporate announced the upcoming changes to ISO 20022 and provided materials for your credit union to best prepare. However, The Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) has just announced that, after careful consideration, it has decided to reschedule the Fedwire Funds Service release from November 2026 to November 2027. Additional details regarding the rescheduled release are expected to be shared by FRFS this fall.
The changes previously communicated, including the transition to a hybrid postal address format and enhancements to investigation messages and FedPayments Manager – Funds, will not take effect as originally planned on the November 2026 date. We understand some credit unions may have already invested time in preparing for these updates, and we apologize for any inconvenience this change in timing may cause. If your credit union has already started preparing for the November 2026 changes, no immediate action is needed at this time. Please pause or extend those preparations until additional guidance and timing is provided.
