The core consumer price index, excluding the often volatile food and energy categories, increased 0.2% from November, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics data out Tuesday. On an annual basis, it advanced 2.6%, matching a four-year low.

China will propose easing some restrictions on Canadian rapeseed products during a visit to the country by Prime Minister Mark Carney, provided his government relaxes tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles. The Chinese authorities plan to discuss the proposal with Carney on his official visit this week, according to people familiar with the matter, asking not to be identified as they’re not authorized to speak to the media.
