Stocks rose as the latest round of jitters about the artificial-intelligence trade subsided, with Europe’s benchmark rising to an all-time high. The dollar touched a two-week low while gold extended gains. S&P 500 futures rose 0.3%.

US private-sector job creation was solid again in June, capping the best three-month stretch for hiring in more than a year. Company payrolls rose by 98,000 after a 122,000 increase in the prior month, according to ADP Research data.

Acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodríguez is facing mounting political fallout from last week’s twin earthquakes, with nearly half of Venezuelans saying holding new elections is more urgent than rebuilding after the disaster. Nearly two-thirds of respondents disapproved of the government’s handling of the earthquakes, while 52.4% described the response as “very poor.”
