US stocks edged higher and Treasuries gained as oil prices eased, with traders holding fire ahead of the week’s first labor data and a string of  artificial-intelligence events. S&P 500 futures rose 0.1%. The yield on 10 year Treasuries declined two basis points to 5.22%.

The selloff in the US bond market deepened on Monday after President Donald Trump rejected Iran’s latest proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, threatening to prolong the war’s energy shock.

Iran and the US appeared far apart on a new ceasefire deal or the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, with Tehran saying it’s sticking to a proposal US President Donald Trump has rejected.
