Following a rally that put the S&P 500 just about 2% away from its record, the American equity benchmark was little changed on Monday. Treasuries traded off their session highs.

Economy
The Treasury is set to sell $22 billion of 30-year government bonds on Thursday, part of its regularly scheduled borrowings. The results, though, will receive special attention because they will offer an instant readout on the scope of market demand at a time when investor appetite for 30-year US debt has soured.

Talks between the US and China kicked off in London, with the US signaling a willingness to remove restrictions on exports in exchange for assurances that China is easing limits on rare earth shipments.
